According to the business publication Fortune magazine Sweetgreen provides many of the aspects that restaurant goers care about today. The food that the salad bar chain serves is sourced locally, it is organic, good for customer’s health and of course is fresh.

These are things that your standard fast food restaurant is not quite able to offer. The result is that health-conscious restaurant goers will find themselves standing in a long line due to the shared demand for food that is delicious and also good for you.

Sweetgreen started out as the brainchild of several students who attended the Washington DC-based university Georgetown.

Co-CEO Nathaniel Ru helped launched the company along with his friends. Since then the company that Nathaniel Ru helped to co-found has grown from the fledgling idea that was floating around in the heads of college students to a national business that has at least 40 branches.
